Soccer Shoes and Cleats

The main point of soccer cleats is to give traction to players, so it is easier to stop and start running very quickly. There are a variety of types and styles of soccer shoes, and it is very important that the player buys the shoes that fit what type of field they will be playing on. The three main types of soccer shoes are outdoor, indoor, and turf.

Outdoor shoes can be purchase with permanent cleats on the bottom, or one’s that can be changes and removed. Removable cleats are worn more by professional players, because the size of the cleat can be changed according to what type of field they are playing on at that time. Molded cleats can not be removed, as they are a permanent part of the sole.

Indoor soccer shoes do not have cleats on the bottom. They are flat and comfortable for players to run in. Turf soccer shoes are meant to be warn on artificial grass, and they also do not have cleats. Turf soccer shoes have special patterns in the sole, meant for traction.

Soccer Equipment

Compared to hockey or  football, the sport of soccer does not need very much equipment. To play a simple game of soccer, all you really need is two goals and a ball.

A professional soccer equipment set would consist of cleats. These are running shoes which are specially designed for running on a soccer field. A professional soccer player would also use shin pads, with long socks over them. This is to protect the lower legs from being hurt when kicking or receiving a soccer ball.

Soccer balls come in a variety of sizes, ranging from 1 to 5. Size 1 and2 are considered promotional soccer balls, and are not used for playing a game. The lower the age of the players, the lower the size of ball should be used. Professional soccer associations use size 5 balls for anyone over the age of 12 years old.

Soccer Jerseys

Soccer jerseys are now being made with natural fibers, that absorb moisture very well. This makes them very efficient for not only soccer players, but also people playing other sports that involve vigorous running or other activities. Jerseys are also a good option for someone with a busy, active life style, because they are very comfortable.

Soccer jerseys are not just worn by players. Fans of sports teams sometimes collect jerseys of the team that they support. Jerseys come in a large quantity of colours and style. If you are interested in purchasing a team jersey, visit  www.rivercitysports.com

Jerseys are also being used as a source of advertisement. A company will sponser a professional soccer team and have their logo put on that teams jerseys. This is a smart way of advertisement because when other people buy the jersey to support their team, they are also supporting your company or product.
